The Midlands club placed him on a week-to-week contract and he eventually made the move to Goodison, signing just minutes before the transfer deadline, in 1999.
Son of the former Scottish international, Archie (who once famously turned down a move to Everton!), his first few weeks on Merseyside were spent helping the Blues avoid relegation.
Gemmill played 27 times for Scotland was a part of the Euro 96 and World Cup 98 squads.
After leaving Everton in 2004, Scot joined Leicester City then Oxford United and is now plying his trade in the Australian A League with New Zealand Knights.
