Former England Under-21 star Peter Clarke was another of Everton's promising youngsters emerging from the Academy.
A former captain of England's Under-18 side, Peter made the natural progression through the Blues' Academy sides into Andy Holden's reserves and then in season 2000/01 made the step up into the first team.A string of notable performaces for the Toffees' second string earned him a Premiership debut against Coventry City at Highfield Road on January 20, 2001.
After a string of loan spells at Port Vale, Coventry and Blackpool he was released in May 2004. He joined Blackpool on a permanent basis and was appointed captain for the Seasiders.
