  • Paddy broke through to the fringes of the first team after impressing in the reserves.

But he was then released in 2008.

He attended the Everton youth academy after coming to Merseyside from Glasgow.

Essentially a left back, he can also operate in midfield or in the centre of a back four.

His determined performances since joining the Toffees have also brought him Scotland under 19 honours.

Paddy was named on the bench for the first time in the match at home to Chelsea in January 2006 along with fellow Academy graduate Mark Hughes.

The young Scot impressed in Everton's pre-season fixtures ahead of the 2006/7 campaign and was loaned to Norwich to gain experience.

He made three appearances for the Canaries but returned to Everton with a back injury. It was diagnosed as a stress fracture and Boyle was forced to sit out the action as he recovered.

He did not figure again during the 2006/07 but returned to training ahead of the 2007/08 campaign.

In January 2008, Paddy joined Crewe Alexandra on loan in a bid to gain regular first team football.

He made a total of 17 appearances for the Railwaymen as they succesfuly battled to avoid relegation from League One.

But there was disappointment for Boyle at the end of the season when he was released by Everton.

After spells at Dumbarton and Partick Thistle, Paddy is now on the books at Dunfermline Athletic.
