Lucas Neill joined Everton on a free transfer in September 2009, signing a one-year-deal with the Toffees
The versatile defender had most recently played for Premier League rivals West Ham United, but left at the end of the 2008/09 campaign.
An Australian international teammate of Tim Cahill, Neill can play all across the back line and is captain of the Socceroos.
Like Cahill, he began his career in England playing at Millwall, turning out for the London side between 1995 and 2001 when he left to join Blackburn for a reported fee of up to £1m.
After six years at Ewood Park he snubbed interest from Liverpool and switched to West Ham, where he made almost 80 appearances and was club captain before rejecting a contract extension and leaving the Hammers.
The uncompromising 6ft 1in player has well over a decade's experience playing for Australia at international level since 1996 and picking up over 50 caps.
He played 18 times for Everton before departing for Galatasaray after just four months.
In August 2011, it was announced Lucas had signed a one-year contract with UAE Pro League Club Al Jazira.
