  • Louis Saha joined Everton in the summer of 2008 for an undisclosed fee.

The Frenchman arrived from Manchester United, signing a 2-year deal with the option for a third year.

His goalscoring pedigree at the highest level can't be disputed - the striker having scored consistently for both United and previous club Fulham.

Indeed, Sir Alex Ferguson parted with upwards of £12m to sign Saha from the London outfit in January 2004.

Before that, the powerful, left-footed forward had been a hugely popular figure at Craven Cottage as he spearheaded Fulham's rise from the Championship to the Premier League.

Earlier, he played 11 games for Newcastle on loan from his first club Metz.

Playing at the top level in England propelled Saha towards the French national side, and he's now received 18 caps and scored on four occasions, including the 2006 World Cup in Germany - though suspension ruled him out of the final.

He switched to Everton just days before the transfer window closed at the start of the 2008/09 camapign.

Saha's season was an injury affected one, but he still plundered eight goals, including two goal of the season contenders and a fabulous FA Cup final strike that - after 25 seconds - was the fastest in a cup final at Wembley.

He picked up where he had left off in 2009/10, and was well into double figures by the new year.

He then scored a brace against Chelsea just days after signing a two-year deal with the Club.

In February 2011, Saha scored an incredible four goals in Everton's 5-3 thrashing of Blackpool, finishing as joint top scorer with 10 strikes.

Adding a further two goals in the first half of the 2011/12 season, the Frenchman ended his Blues career with a total of 35 goals in 115 appearances.

With six months left of his contract, Tottenham Hotspur signed Saha with just hours left before the transfer window closed on January 31, 2012.
