Another Academy graduate, Laurence was a regular in the reserves and gained England Under 17, 18 and 19 recognition. 

The Liverpool-born midfielder was named in the first-team squad that faced Villarreal in a Champions League qualifier in 2005 but ultimately failed to make the breakthrough. 

He joined Chester City in May 2006 before moving to Morecambe three years later.
