John Paul Kissock
- Born: 02/12/1989
- Birthplace: Liverpool
- Nationality: English
After joining the Academy, JP impressed immediately, becoming a regular with the under 18s and the reserve side.
A quick-footed midfielder, he also has excellent vision and a strength that belies his small stature.
His performances caught the eye of the international selectors as he was placed on stand-by for the England under 19 squad but the call-up never materialised.
John Paul was called up to the first-team squad ahead of the game in Alkmaar but did not make the substitutes' bench.
However, his regular appearances in the reserve side mean he is knocking on the door for first team recognition.
In January 2008, Kissock went on loan to SPL side Gretna for the duration of the season.
Despite the club enduring a difficult end to the campaign, Kissock did catch the eye with some gutsy showings.
He was a step closer to first team action at Everton in the 2008/09 season, making the bench on a number of occasions.
He also spent time on loan at Accrington Stanley but was released by the Blues at the end of the season.
After a short-lived spell at Hamilton Academical, JP then entered the football wilderness, turning out occasionally in the non-leagues while working as a DJ.
In 2010, he earned a contract with Southport and impressed to such a degree, a move to Luton Town followed the very next summer.
