Edgar Chadwick

Forward

  • Born: 14/06/1869
  • Chadwick was one of the game's first superstars.

He played for Blackburn Olympic and Blackburn Rovers before joining Everton for the inaugural Football League season of 1888-89.

Although only 5ft 6in tall, he was a fearsome competitor who won 7 England caps while in the Blue half of Merseyside.

He was a goalscoring inside-left and racked up over 300 appearances for the Toffees, netting 109 times.

He played in the losing FA Cup finals of 1893 and 1897 but was an ever-present in the 1890-91 Championship winning season.

Chadwick left Everton for Burnley in May 1899.
