Anthony Gardner joined Everton on loan on transfer deadline day in January 2008.
He stayed on Merseyside for five months but didn't make a first team appearance.
Recruited from Tottenham, Gardner became the second loan signing of the January transfer window following the return of Manuel Fernandes to Goodison.
He joined on a loan deal until the end of the 07/08 season.
Born in Stafford, Gardner started his playing career at Port Vale, scoring four goals in 41 appearances.
He then joined Tottenham in 2000 - intending to be the replacement of Sol Campbell who had joined London rivals Arsenal.
The tall defender scored for Spurs in their clash with the Blues in August 2007 in a game which Everton went on to win 3-1.
Gardner earned his England debut against Sweden in 2005 after coming off the subs bench to replace Gareth Southgate. Gardner has not featured for the England team since, mainly due to injury problems.
Garnder arrived with a groin injury and would only make a couple of reserve appearances before the season ended and he returned to Spurs.
Later that year, Anthony joined Hull City, initially on loan, and ended up spending two seasons at the KC Stadium before returning to London with Crystal Palace.
