Everton will demand around £4million for James Beattie should Blackburn and Middlesbrough pursue their interest.
Blackburn have made an official enquiry for the striker and were hopeful of getting him around £2.5million.
But Everton manager David Moyes does not want to let the 29-year-old go cheaply. Middlesbrough, who are also interested in Spurs striker Mido, will look to Beattie if they lose to Everton in the £6m race for Manchester United ‘s Alan Smith.

Sol Campbell is a surprise target for David Moyes. The former England defender had an outstanding first season at Fratton Park, but Everton may make a £1m offer for him.

Alan Smith has been given a place in Manchester United's Far East tour squad as speculation over his career at the club remains rife.
He has supposedly been seeking assurances over his future after failing to land anew contract from Sir Alex Ferguson.
