There was a very early start for some of the evertonfc.com team on Saturday as they headed back to the airport to welcome the squad to Australia.

But they were certainly weren't the only ones to have got up early as a throng of fans and camera crews has also turned up at Sydney Airport.

But of far more interest was the presence of Tim Cahill who was keen to personally welcome the Blues to Australia.

Our photographer was able to take some great photos of Tim greeting the players, while there was also a few moments for him, David Moyes and Phil Neville to speak to evertontv.

The size of Cahill's celebrity over here is becoming more and more apparent; he's a regular face on all the sports channels - both in the news and through his product endorsements.

After the players had taken a few hours to rest after their long journey, they gathered in the afternoon for a walk/jog from the hotel to the harbour.

Naturally evertonfc.com despatched our cameraman and photographer to get footage of the players by the famous landmarks.

But what started as a walk turned into a jog, meaning our crew had to run ahead, film as the players came past, then run ahead again!

But, as you will see soon when our photos and video are online, it was worth it!
