Welcome to the ToffeeBlog
Have you ever seen the film, "Invasion of the Body Snatchers?" I'll give you the premise.
Aliens have dropped seeds, which drift across the earth, which then grow into large ‘pods', which in turn grow within them complete human replicas of certain people. These replicas then take the place of the original people and thereby the aliens will eventually take over the world.
‘People' look and sound exactly the same, but they are NOT the same.
Only a thesis of such Sci-Fi proportions could explain Everton's first half display yesterday at Hull's KC stadium.
To some up what I thought of that display, I'd have to say,"KC in the sunshine? Bland!" Yes it really was that painful!
Then, at half time, Mr Moyes and Louis Saha managed what Donald Sutherland and Kevin McCarthy (in the 1956 original) could not. They defeated the aliens and restored the original life-force into the bodies of the Everton team. Things were as they should be; in fact it was a case of KC in the sunshine? Grand!
Hopefully now the season really will begin.
