ST ANDREWS - DAY ONE

View articlesThe pre-season trip to St Andrews started well for evertonfc.com.
The two person editorial team - Scott McLeod and Claire Boden - departed Merseyside at 10am for the long drive north.
Thankfully, despite the rain that has blighted everybody's summer in recent weeks - the drive went well, ensuring evertonfc.com were the first representatives from Goodison to arrive at the hotel that will be the home for David Moyes and his squad in the coming days.
The hotel, located just outside the picturesque town of St Andrews, provides a superb base for the players - unfortunately evertonfc.com is based elsewhere.
Nevertheless, after overcoming internet connection issues, the team was on hand to welcome the Goodison squad as they arrived via the hotel's shuttle bus from Dundee airport at 5pm.
After processing the images and putting together a short editorial piece - the task of overcoming internet connection problems was dealt with - and news of the Blues' arrival was posted on the site.
And all done whilst the players went out for their first training session. A return for dinner at 8pm presented the opportunity to record the blog updates of Alan Irvine and Alan Stubbs - plus an additional interview with head kitman Jimmy Martyn on the task of preparing for three trips in the space of month during the pre-season period.
But it was also time to make preparations. Planning times for interviews over the next two days should make the job easier.
Before turning in, the final task of the day was logging and editing the video footage recorded during the day in preparation for uploading it to the evertonTV site.
