Everton youngsters Shane Duffy and John Lundstram were both involved in the action as Yeovil managed a 1-1 draw at relegation rivals Barnsley on Saturday.

Travelling to Oakwell, the duo's loan club were looking to extend the gap between themselves and the bottom-placed Tykes and appeared set to do so when Joel Grant gave them a 10th-minute lead following a defensive mix-up between Barnsley's centre-backs and goalkeeper Jack Butland.

The advantage only lasted until 11 minutes before the break however, when Marcus Tudgay netted from the penalty spot following James McAllister's foul on Tomasz Cywka.

Duffy, who played the full 90 minutes, then headed a curling Jacob Mellis strike off the line to preserve parity and that's how it stayed until the full-time whistle.

Lundstram, who was making his fifth appearance since joining Duffy at Huish Park at the end of November, played 75 minutes before being replaced by veteran forward James Hayter.

A fine through ball to forward Ishmael Miller was the highlight of his performance but a linesman's flag stopped the former Manchester City and West Brom forward in his tracks.

Down a tier, in League One, Luke Garbutt and Colchester United has an afternoon to forget as they slipped to a shock 4-0 home loss to relegation-threatened Notts County.

Garbutt played the full 90 minutes but was powerless to prevent defeat as goals from Jack Grealish, Morgan Fox, Callum McGregor and Gary Liddle left United 18th in the table, just three points above the drop zone.

Elsewhere, Francisco Junior again missed out on the squad as Vitesse Arnhem built on their recent good form with a sixth straight win.

After a Jordi Buijs penalty got them on their way in the 35th minute, the Eredivisie outfit went on to defeat NAC Breda 3-2, maintaining their grip on top spot.

With 17 games played, Vitesse lead champions Ajax by two points and third place Twente by three.
