View articlesSaturday, a 5am wake up call and a lot of swearing from the boy at this ghastly hour! The things we do to follow the Blues!
Today we are heading to Old Trafford for the early kick-off with Manchester United, a fixture I really look forward to every season.
I also go there with as much expectation as when we play Liverpool, but in recent years I have left very disappointed. However, today I feel different. With United playing for the title I'm hoping maybe they are going to get some jitters! And the league's in-form team can spring a surprise.
Anyway, our cab turns up at 6am and we head to Canterbury station, the only other people travelling at this time of the morning are straggling students who missed the last train home for Easter last night!
Euston is different as usual on a Saturday, fans from all over are hanging around waiting for trains, Manchester United obviously but also some Liverpool, Birmingham, Wolves and Villa fans downing a coffee. No coffee for me, I want sleep!
The boys defended manfully for 80 minutes but the writing was on the wall from kick-off. We just weren't good enough to get anything from the game and United push on towards the title.
Next week is Wigan and the boys need to step up a gear and as there is nothing left to play for, why not give the youngsters a run out?
My only wish left for this season is that Liverpool do not qualify for Europe, so go on Stoke, win the FA Cup!
