Everton Giant

Colin Harvey has become the latest hero to be named an Everton Giant.

The Club has honoured one of its former greats every year since 2000 and the inauguration of the Everton Giants accolade to mark the millennium.

Harvey is the latest great from the Club's glorious past to join the small list of Everton Giants that includes Howard Kendall, Graeme Sharp, Alan Ball and Dixie Dean.

Harvey made his Everton debut at the age of 18 when he turned out at the San Siro Stadium against Internazionale. He won the league championship with the Club in 1970 and, following his superb playing career with the Toffees, went on to enjoy stints as both manager and assistant manager at Goodison Park.

He was part of the famous Holy Trinity of Ball/Harvey/Kendall in the Everton midfield that was so influential in the Blues' 1970 Championship winning side under Harry Catterick.

He received his award from Kevin Ratcliffe and afterwards told evertonTV exclusively: "This is a great honour. I have been privileged to play for this club and it is great to be involved on such a prestigious night."
