About the author
View articlesI, like most Evertonians, was bitterly disappointed after the Aston Villa match because it was a game we should have won.
It was a frustrating game and it would have been nice for us to get back to winning ways at home.
It was a game we could have won but overall I didn't think we performed.
AJ hasn't scored for a few games but it won't take a lot to get him going again.
He's away with England and that would be an ideal oppotunity for him to get a goal.
The thing is, he is still getting the chances. He had a couple of chances on Saturday where you would have put your money on him to score.
It wasn't the case but I doubt his confidence will be effected. His general play is good and he is still getting the chances.
It is a hard job up there on your own - but James Beattie came on and gave him a little bit of help, so with the injury to Tim, then David may change to a 4-4-2 system, and we may see a partnership forming.
We've got Bolton this weekend and that will be a tough physical encounter.
They have done so well under Sam Allardyce and you know when you play them it is going to be a battle and you have to stand up to that.
They are physical and it has served them well so you have to respect them for that.
From a personal point of view, it has been a busy couple of weeks.
As you may know, my book, Sharpy - My Story is now on the shelves.
I have been working on it in conjunction with Darren Griffiths and I was very fortunate in my career in that my father collected all the cuttings.
We used them as references and Darren did most of the work - it was easy for myself!
Hopefully it is a good read!
