YOUNGSTERS' FRIDAY FEELING

Everton under 18s are in action on Friday night.

They face Blackburn in high spirits after the 5-0 demolition of Crewe last weekend.

Coach Neil Dewsnip said: “It was a great performance. I was very, very pleased with the mentality, but I have to say I am not surprised by it.

"They are a smashing set of lads. The defeat (against Manchester City) hurt them, but motivated them."

That loss against City was Everton's only loss of the season and the Blues are still in second place in the league table.

And Dewsnip is delighted with the number of scoring opportunities his young side are creating.

“We had numerous chances right throughout the game and could have scored even more, but what was just as pleasing was we defended correctly and kept a clean sheet,” he said.

Everton face Blackburn at Netherton on Friday evening, kick off 6.45pm.
