YAKUBU'S DESIRE
Yakubu believes this is the season the Blues can win a trophy.
A hat-trick from the Nigerian international against Fulham on Saturday stretched Everton’s unbeaten run to 10 games.
Yakubu has now scored nine goals since his summer move from Middlesbrough and admits he is getting better and better every game.
“It is a great feeling to score a hat-trick,” Yakubu told evertonTV.
“I want to say thanks to the players. In the beginning we did not do so well because of the conditions but in the second half we came out and did the job. I was so pleased to score a hat-trick.
“I think I am getting better and better every game I play which is good.”
With progress into the knockout stages of the Uefa Cup ensured and a Carling Cup quarter-final date with West Ham on Wednesday, Yakubu insists the Blues are a Club heading in the right direction.
“We want to finish in Europe and I want to part of the team that achieves something. I think this is the year that the team can achieve something,” he said.
“We are doing well in Europe and if we can finish in the top four in the league it will be good. At the moment we are moving in the right direction.
“It is unbelievable to play 10 games without losing. The team is growing everyday and every game we play we are getting better.”

Mark JonesAnother great win for the lads on the weekend, Everton fans haven't had it this good since that May weekend in '95. Now let's win our quarter final in midweek, keep the run going over Christmas, then sign Wes Brown in January!
