David Moyes names a strong side to face the Owls.

David Moyes has made a number of changes for the Carling Cup clash with Sheffield Wednesday.

Alan Stubbs replaces Joseph Yobo at centre-back while Nuno Valente comes in for Leighton Baines at left-back, who is named as a substitute. 

Lee Carsley is preferred to Phil Neville in midfield and up front sees Yakubu and James McFadden spearing heading the Everton attack with Andrew Johnson and Victor Anichebe on the bench. 

Stefan Wessels continues in goal in place of the injured Tim Howard. In defence is the pairing of Joleon Lescott and Stubbs with Tony Hibbert and Valente either side.

Phil Jagielka will expect a hostile reception from the Wednesday faithful as he takes his place in midfield alongside Carsley, Steven Pienaar and Leon Osman.

Francis Jeffers will play against his former club yet Steve Watson will not feature due to injury.
