Everton Chief Executive Keith Wyness today hailed the support of Evertonians following the initial success of the 2008/09 Season Ticket campaign.
Phase one entered its final stage last weekend with the closure of the ‘early bird’ window and the latest figures suggest it has been the most promising on record.
The Everton Fan Centre at Goodison Park has been inundated with renewals since the launch of the campaign and there has also been a major interest in the newly launched wait list.
Speaking to evertonfc.com, the Blues Chief Executive thanked supporters for their continued support. He said: “We are delighted with the response from Season Ticket holders in deciding to renew early for 2008/09.
“Renewing early is becoming increasingly popular in football but it was a major culture change to try and install. We have managed to do that but not without the fans’ support and goodwill and I would like to say thank you for that.
“We genuinely believe the high number of renewals reflects the excitement and anticipation amongst supporters for the forthcoming season and that with still everything to play for in the final three games of this one.”
The next stage of the campaign gives existing season tickets holders until 11 May to secure their current seat at Goodison and applicants for new Season Tickets can join the wait list to receive priority on the best seats available before general sale commences on June 16.
The wait list is a brand new facility introduced to allow supporters who want to become a season ticket holder the option to register their interest in advance of the general sale.
