TURNER SIGNS CONTRACT EXTENSION

TURNER SIGNS CONTRACT EXTENSION

Iain Turner has put pen to paper on a contract extension that will keep him at Goodison until 2011.

The Scotland Under-21 international has signed the deal in the wake of his first Premiership start of the season against Manchester United.

Turner was handed the opportunity to start against United on Saturday because Tim Howard was not available.

The 23-year-old arrived at Goodison from Stirling Albion in 2000 and has enjoyed a series of loan spells, with Crystal Palace and Sheffield Wednesday the most recent.

Both Championship clubs were keen on extending Turner's stay - serving to underline the player's increasing reputation.

News of his deal comes in the same week that teammates James Vaughan and Victor Anichebe extended their deals at Everton.

The keeper is keen to fulfill his undoubted potential at Goodison Park.
