Tim Cahill is confident Everton can secure 'a massive result' when Arsenal travel to Goodison Park on Saturday.
Everton go into the game having won 12 games out of a possible 15 in all competitions and Cahill believes that the Blues' consistency can help the side go into the New Year on the back of a victory.
The Australian international scored Everton's second in a 2-0 victory against Bolton on Boxing Day, putting David Moyes' side into sixth in the Premier League.
He said: "Arsenal are a big footballing side that break teams down, but we're going to do our homework and watch a lot of videos on them. I think that it's the way in which we apply ourselves.
"They're coming to Goodison so they're going to have a game on their hands."
The Blues' have a 100 per cent home record against the Gunners over the past two seasons - better than any other team in the Barclays Premier League - but Cahill feels that Arsenal are a better side this season: "We've done alright against Arsenal, but they seem to be getting better and better with all their youngsters, but we're looking forward to playing them.
"It's one of those things that when you play against the big teams, everyone rises to the occasion and it's something that we have got to do again on Saturday if we are going to pull off a huge win."
The disappointment that surrounded the squad after the narrow 2-1 defeat against Manchester United is testament to how far David Moyes has brought his side. And Cahill thinks Everton can learn from that game and secure victory against Arsenal.
He added: "It was a bit disappointing to concede the goal at the end, but we got so much out of the game because it was something that we worked so hard for and we took a great account of ourselves."
