Squad Numbers Change

Everton boss David Moyes has confirmed his squad numbers for the new season.

There are three changes to the squad numbers for the 2008/09 campaign - with Mikel Arteta, Phil Jagielka and Jack Rodwell all given new shirts.

Arteta has given up the number six shirt to move to number 10 - joining an illustrious group of Everton greats that includes John Hurst, Paul Bracewell and Duncan Ferguson to have donned the shirt with pride.

The vacancy at six has allowed Jagielka to move up the squad list from 16 a season on from his arrival from Sheffield United.

It may be a number synonymous with, recently, Arteta and historically Peter Reid but it is in defence where Jagielka has made an impression for the Blues.

Young Academy graduate Rodwell has adopted the number vacated by Lee Carsley.

There are still vacancies at one, nine and 11.
