The unusual time and date was dictated by Uefa and is a result of Liverpool also playing at home that week and also because there are Champions League games later on Tuesday evening.
Nevertheless, Evertonians have been snapping up the reduced price tickets for the glamour clash.
With junior ticket prices set at just £10, Blues officials are hoping the game offers an excellent half-term outing.
Chief Executive Robert Elstone wrote on his evertonfc.com blog: "The Sporting Lisbon kick off time is, as you will know and much to our dismay, 5.45pm. It does mean an early finish or an afternoon off work, so for many of us it's a ‘big ask'.
"However, being positive, it's school half-term so maybe a good chance to bring the kids?
"As has already been reported, we didn't take it lying down. We challenged and we looked for compromises but in the end we got what we were given."
The kick off time means fans attending to the game will have to contend with rush hour, while there are also several sets of road works in the area surrounding Goodison Park. Therefore, the Club is advising supporters to buy their tickets in advance and get to the ground early on matchday.
Mr Elstone added: "Getting to Goodison will also be tough with the usual glut of road works and disruption and I don't need to ask you to buy in advance and get down early. Please do! European nights are special and your support will make all the difference."
