Saha Signs Extension
The French striker pledges his long term future to Everton.
Louis Saha has signed a contract extension at Goodison.
The Frenchman put pen to paper on a two-year extension to his existing contract on Friday, ensuring he will remain at Everton until the end of the 2011/2012 season.
Saha, 31, is the Blues' leading scorer this season with 13 goals from just 21 starts.
His contract was due to expire this summer and media speculation had claimed interest from a host of top European clubs.
But Saha, who arrived from Manchester United in the summer of 2008, will remain part of David Moyes' squad – revealing the decision to remain with Everton was a straightforward one.
After signing his contract, Saha exclusively told evertonfc.com: "It was an easy decision. You always think carefully but it didn't take me long to know I wanted to stay because I have enjoyed my time here and I want to be part of the future of Everton.
"It is a pleasure and an honour to stay here," Saha continued. "At certain stages in your career you look at where you are going and by staying at Everton I feel I am going up in my career."
Saha added that the supporters played their role in making his mind up too.
"I appreciate the way the Everton fans support the team and the way they support me all the time,” he declared.
“It is a pleasure to be here and see the way the fans work for the team, they help all the players. It feels like a family and I really feel a part of it."

Andy PearceGreat news! Am in complete agreement with Matthew C and John M - some fans need to lose the negativity towards certain players. It's hard enough to play sometimes when things aren't going well without the people who should be backing you 100% climbing on your back and giving you a hard time. Knock players from other teams BUT NOT OUR OWN!
Monday 8th February 09:03 Report CommentJason DitchburnThis news can only boost everyone in the squad. Come on Piennar do the same, Moyes took a big gamble on you which has paid off for both parties. Don't be a typical greedy modern day player show some class and loyalty and sign an extension.

Matthew CraftRe the yak comments. I saw darren Campbell last week on soccer am stating anyone who can recover from a snapped achielles (spelling?!) deserves proper respect as it's horrendous. Remember the yak was the first for yrs to score 20 in the league for us so give him more time. Supporting our players through tough times is part of what makes our club so great. Ps congrats to davie for 600up. Coyb

Saturday 6th February 10:14 Report CommentJohn HauIt was a great news to here with Saha signing with us for a two-year extension, and if you can keep up the high standard, we would be delighted to see you still playing with us at 34 or 35. Now that's sorted we need to sort out Pienaar and Coleman contract as well.

Wayne InstoneYou are a class act when firing on all cylinders. little out of form just lately, but all strikers have this, come good at Anfield today and bag a couple. You are right, you are part of a family, so good luck for the next couple of years.

Friday 5th February 23:45 Report CommentJohn MainwaringAbsolutely fantastic news King Louis is a quality striker with a fantastic eye for goal, he's looking at 20 for the season easily. Still of the Opinion that we need to get off players backs and give them all support in hard times i.e. the Yak he's had a major injury for pete's sake, give him time. Prime examples of poor judgement from fans 1. Moyes gets stick at start of season now manager of the month! 2. Felli and more recently Time get stick, they are now playing brilliantly. All these negative fans need to read between the lines sometimes.

Peter WilliamsGreat news! Some people questioned the buying of Saha, but he had a point to prove and proved it. Its especially good for us, as we would have no way of replacing him with our transfer budget of 100 quid

Frank CarrollThat is good news for us-but King Louis must now knuckle down and show us a bit more commitment-many have thought recently that his mind has been somewhere else and that's hard to argue about- he certainly has amazing skill and is capable of turning a game in a instant - so come on King Louis what a place to start again and remind us what you can do- the other lot are quaking in their boots-lets take them tomorrow- 0 3 - KL-the blue Kangaroo-and Yankee- doodle Donovan !! COYB
