Reading manager Steve Coppell is waiting on the fitness of Graeme Murty and Brynjar Gunnarsson for Sunday's match against Everton.
Skipper Murty has missed games against West Ham and Burnley because of a groin problem.
The Royals will be forced to start either Andre Bikey or Ulises De La Cruz, if the player fails to regain full fitness.
Gunnarsson, on the other hand, was withdrawn in the final stages of Reading's game against the Hammers on New Year's Day, after pulling his hamstring.
The midfielder's absence could pave the way for an appearance from ex-Everton player John Oster.
Dave Kitson and Bobby Convey will also be hoping for some involvement after playing their first game in some months against Burnley in the FA Cup in midweek.
Steve Coppell's side travel to Goodison Park on the back of two impressive victories and they will be hoping to use this form to avenge the 2-0 defeat against The Blues just before Christmas.
