Rodwell In Line For Final
David Moyes wouldn't hesitate to play Jack Rodwell in the FA Cup final.
David Moyes insists he wouldn't hesitate to play Jack Rodwell in the FA Cup final.
Rodwell, 18, has been hugely impressive in the second part of the season when asked to step into Everton's midfield.
The teenager hasn't looked out of place and impressed further as a substitute during Saturday's 3-1 win over West Ham.
Rodwell featured in the FA Cup semi-final against Manchester United and even has a goal at the national stadium to his name - notching for England Under-16s in 2007.
Moyes explained: "He is an awesome player and maturing all the time.
"I'd have no qualms about putting him in. He has athleticism, can pass it and has good temperament.
"I've not finalised the team yet and have things in mind that I'm working towards."
Another player on course to play a key role in the clash with Chelsea on 30 May is Louis Saha. The Frenchman scored twice in the win over the Hammers.
Saha's teammate Joleon Lescott reckons the former Manchester United striker is coming good at just the right time.
"Louis is a great player who has proved himself at the highest level," he said.
"His experience is vital to us and I'm sure we're going to need that over the next two games.
"When you've got someone like Louis up there you are always going to be dangerous."

Monday 18th May 19:52 Report CommentDavid MartinI think Rodwell has earned his place in the squad but I can't think of anyone I would drop in his position. He should be first choice substitute and we should be starting him more in Neville's position next season. Saha needs to play a blinder and I hope Moyes has kept Vaughn in mind. He is a player capable of changing a game.
