Rodwell: Everton Right For Me

Jack Rodwell knows David Moyes is the best man to be in charge of his development as a footballer.

The Everton manager is renowned in the Premier League for the way he encourages youth players to break through to the first team ranks.

And when comparing Everton's recruitment strategy with other teams in the League, Rodwell is convinced he is at the right Club.

"He's (Moyes) been amazing," the academy graduate exclusively told evertonTV. "He's a great gaffer to have - he's helped me a lot because I'm young."

During his seven year tenure at Everton, the Goodison chief has brought through the likes of Wayne Rooney, James Vaughan and Victor Anichebe - and Rodwell has the utmost respect for the opportunity Moyes gives to younger players.

The Southport-born midfielder added: "He puts his trust and faith into the youngsters as you've seen over the past years, which is good for me and good for the youngsters coming through at Everton."

Cason TangJ-Rod may be better to play as CDM as he is versatile with some attacking mind like Carsley. Although many projects him to be CB, his skills may be even better as the last man in the midfield. I hope he realizes that Everton can give him more opportunities and regular football compared to Man U which was reported to be interested in J-Rod. Also I hope Lescott is not leaving. If he really wants to leave and Moyes cannot convince him, I hope Moyes can ask for Micah Richards. Then we can have the future England defense to learn from the current England CB in Jag. That will be fantastic.

Paul JohnsonMr Grundy, think its worth remembering that Wayne's family background didnt really help his personality clashes with Moyes. In addition, Rodwell, every bit as exciting a prospect as Rooney? We all pray that may be the case. But keep it in perspective, just an athletic holding-mid or centre half, no Eng Captain. Comments like these put bad ideas in kids heads! Just look at THEO.

David GrundyJack has the potential to go all the way. By that, I mean to become the Everton and England captain for the next generation coming through - around 2013 and beyond. He has all the attributes as a person, let alone as a footballer. I really hope he firmly puts his roots down and develops to achieve his potential at Everton, rather than up and leave as Rooney did. He is certainly every bit as exciting a prospect as Wayne was at 18. How David and his team do it is all credit to our setup, although I know Wayne was recognised even before David became our Manager. Jack must see beyond his pecker and his wallet. He is a bright young gentleman and so I can't see that ever being an issue. More first team action will surely come next season, and lets hope we start to understand where Jack's best position is. I am proud that our Club has talent such as Jack Rodwell and look forward with huge optimism to see where his career progresses to. Nice to see Jack giving credit where credit is due. It beats writing untruths in books thats for sure!!

David JacksonIt's so nice to see a young player showing sign of knowing the best place to further his career rather than looking for the biggest pay cheque he can get. I believe Rodders with be a huge star for us next season and for England in the near future. This also goes to show how good Davie is in the transfer market and our youth development, he'll always release the youngsters he doesn't believe will make it and keeps hold of the bright stars. Kepp it going Davie.

Gerry QuinnGerry, Houston With all the rumours going around about possible transfers, it is re-assuring to know that young players like Jack Rodwell confidently follow on from the senior players who have signed long-term contracts. It can be frustrating being an Everton fan at times like this when the media constantly make up stories of possible transfers. Great news, Jack, to give us your thoughts and to have so much respect for your "family". Attitude and response spot on, lad - future captain of the League Champions - Everton, that is
