Everton Reserves face Bootle tonight in the quarter-final of the Liverpool Senior Cup.
This is the first time in 117 years that the two sides have met in the Cup, with Everton last winning the Merseyside-based knock-out competition in 2007.
It will be the Blues' second string's first outing of 2010, having not been in action since their 1-1 draw with Sunderland in November.
Everton could also field a number of the Under-18s side who featured in last week's 3-0 win over Preston North End in the fifth round of the FA Youth Cup. They are also likely to include Hope Akpan – the midfielder who gained first-team experience in Everton's Europa League match against BATE Borisov in December.
The match takes place at Bootle's Delta Taxi Stadium and kicks off at 8pm, and a match programme will be available to purchase for £2.50.
Everton (from): Roberts, Cummins, Barnett, Murphy, McCarten, Peterlin, Orenuga, Akpan, Codling, Sheppard, Dobie, Davies, Kinsella, Thompson, Garbutt, Donegan, Watson.
