PRE-SEASON NEWS

by Scott McLeod | Friday 30 May 2008, 16:00

Everton have confirmed the first set of fixtures for the forthcoming pre-season calendar - which includes a return to the USA.

David Moyes' senior first team squad will return to training in July following their summer break.

The Blues will again be travelling to the United States as part of their pre-season preparations, with games in Chicago and Colorado confirmed.

It will be the fourth time in five years that Everton have chosen the United States as their pre-season destination.

Everton will take on MLS side Chicago Fire at the Toyota Park on Wednesday July 30 (kick-off 7.30pm) before travelling to Colorado to face fellow MLS outfit the Colorado Rapids on August 3.

The domestic leg of Everton's pre-season programme will get underway at Cambridge United on Saturday, July 19 (kick-off 3pm).

That will be followed by a trip to Preston North End for the third consecutive pre-season, with the Blues taking on Alan Irvine's men at Deepdale on Tuesday, July 22nd (kick-off 7.45pm).

The third game of that week will be played against Nottingham Forest at the City Ground on Friday, July 25 (kick-off 7.45pm).

Further details of Everton's pre-season fixture calendar will be revealed when games are confirmed by club officials.

It would be great if we played in the south of England during pre season. Im a hard up, lifelong Evertonian and would love to see the boys without it costing the earth

Do we have any pre-season games at home. Kids are missing seeing Everton playing, plus i know all kids enjoy the pre-season games. Congratulations to moyesy and the boys for doing so well last season and thanks MUFC for 2.5million on Rooney deal. David is an astute businessman as well as being a sound manager.

I agree! would love to see the blues down under for a tour of Oz and NZ. Would love to see the Blues in New Zealand, and would be good for the game here too.

I will try to make the Colorado match. The Rapids have a partnership with Arsenal so always good to see them lose.

I'd love a game against Celtic, I couldn't get there last time, was absolutely gutted, Tranmere's another I'd like to see.

That sounds great to watch on TV but i really think you should come down to Australia One day as we seen when LA GALAXY came down it was a sell out and i know it would be to if Everton came down so you should think of that for the near future plus it would also help Football get more popular here seeing Professionals at work

I am chuffed with the cambridge match because I live round there and it will be nice to just pop down and see them instead of driving five hours
