Everton officially unveiled the club's three summer signings to date at Goodison on Monday.
Welsh international midfielder Simon Davies, Danish international defender Per Kroldrup and England U-19 goalkeeper John Ruddy were presented to the media.
And each player wasted no time in underlining precisely why they believe it is such an exciting time to be joining David Moyes' Goodison ranks.
Davies was signed from Tottenham in May for a fee which could rise to £4m.
But he revealed he spent the second half of last season dreaming about the prospect of running out for Everton after the Blues initially showed their interest during the January transfer window.
He explained: "Once it nearly happened in January I couldn't stop thinking about it then and I was thinking about how exciting it would be for a new challenge.

"The fact Everton were interested in January at a time when I was injured showed they had faith in me and it was a big factor towards my decision to come here.
"The manager made it known he wanted to bring in a right-sided player and I am just honoured to be here.
"And obviously, Champions League was a huge attraction.
"The fact we have got a great chance of reaching the Champions League proper this season is a real bonus and something we are all aiming for."
The draw for Kroldrup was equally strong. He was assured of Champions League football even if he had stayed with Udinese in Serie A.
But he admits the decision to leave the Italian side to move to Merseyside was straightforward.
He said: "I have had four very good years in Italy but I have been thinking for a while it was time to try something else. When Everton came in with their offer I was really happy to join the club.
"It is a big challenge for me to try and adapt my game for the Premiership and I am really looking forward to it.

"This is a strong club with ambitions and a powerful group which manages to work together. That is a positive sign and I think it will be easy to settle into life on Merseyside - the lads have been very kind to me."
Both Kroldrup and Davies have been signed to go straight into David Moyes' first-team plans.
Ruddy, however, was brought in from Cambridge for the long-term.
The player himself is aware of his position within the goalkeeping
pecking order.
But he also has clear plans of what he wants to achieve with the Blues.
"The move was massive for me and I am looking forward to the whole experience," he said.
"Looking around the stadium makes you realise the history the club has got and how much I want to be a part of that. I want to be able to make my mark at the club.
"I have got a four year contract and development is necessary but if I do that at the rate I have done in the last few years then I can't see any reason why I can't be pushing the keepers all the way.
"There is a lot of competition but that can only be good for me. With the experience the other three keepers have got, I can only learn from them and maybe slowly but surely sneak past them!"
All three of Everton's new arrivals will have a chance to integrate with their new teammates during the training camp in Austria this week.
