NEV: WE HAVE TO KEEP MOVING
Phil Neville warned Everton's players they cannot let their standards slip next term after finishing sixth in the Premiership this season.
The Blues' 1-1 draw at Chelsea on Sunday denied David Moyes' men the fifth place finish they craved.
But they have qualified for the UEFA Cup next term and improved significantly on last year's 11th place.
But Neville, who has enjoyed league and cup successes at Manchester United, knows what it takes to remain at the top of the tree - and wasted no time in passing on that experience to his teammates in the wake of Sunday's draw.
He revealed: “The feeling at the end of last season was that the club had to make a step up.
“We needed to make two or three signings and everyone needed to raise the bar. First of all, the board backed the manager and he made three great signings.

Irene RobertsCongratulations to all at Everton on finishing in the top six - maybe with some better decisions by officials we could have finished higher! Hopefully they won't be as mean to AJ next season. Though born in Liverpool I now watch from the other side of the world - Australia - subscribing to pay tv so I can watch my beloved Everton - it has been worth every cent. I am looking forward to seeing who Moyesy buys in the summer - I hope the board back the manager with the money he needs. Here's to the 2007-8 season. Go the blues.

Daniel CrossAs an Aussie Everton fan I would love to see Viduka come on board, and I think Everton as a club would definitely interest him and how well would he team up with AJ!

Otis PomeranzIm an Austrailian watching from the other side on the continent...and ive followed our progress all year...what a great club EFC is and deservedlly in UEFA Cup. I dont think to many would disagree in saying with a bit more luck we could have had around 70 points and been in the top 4. Well done lads on a great season!

Michael GainfordI personally believe that Moyesy must definitely be backed as manager because of how he has transformed Everton back into the team closest in stature to any team I have seen as I am only 22. Not qualifying for the Champions League due to a refereeing robbery by Mr Collina affected a entire half a season in 05-06. If we had had a decent start to that season we would have made top 6-7. That would have amounted to three 6th place finishes and this from a manager who some Evertonians wanted gone not 18 months ago. Moyesy can lead us further, he must receive financial backing.

David Leei agree completely we do need to take the next step we need to bring in some more quality players. The foundation is there we need that extra bit of class in the side to turn games in our favour instead of drawing them. No disrespect to the players we have but to take the next step up to break into the top four we need mor quality i the side as well as the spirit that we have now. *To the board* Keep backing the manager.

Andy CorrieI hope the consistency that we have begun to develop is maintained into next season, so often that is where we have so obviously lacked, I believe that quality players have been conspicuous in their absence until recently in the last couple of seasons, the board must continue to support the manager and team by releasing the necessary funds to strengthen year on year, without exception, money as they say makes the world go round, and maintains premiership status, there's no getting away from it, so keep that cheque book handy Mr Kenwright, you WILL need it..
