Moyes Targets Four
Everton manager remains keen to strengthen before the transfer deadline.
David Moyes has set his sights on four new signings before the close of the transfer window.
Everton have 11 days left in which to conduct their transfer business before the window closes until January.
Brazilian striker Jo is currently the only senior addition to the Everton ranks this summer.
But the Goodison chief admits he needs more numbers in his squad if the Blues are to continue their assault on domestic and European trophies.
He told evertonfc.com: "I want to be in the Europa League because if we get through (to the group stage) there are big games. But the squad depth is a definite concern. We are getting closer, but I've been saying that since the weekend. There are 11 days to go and I feel we need to add four players to the squad in that time.
"I keep thinking we are closer to making a signing. But I can see the deadline coming closer and normally I am glad when it shuts, but on this occasion I would like to extend it.
"I feel that if we are fortunate enough to get into the group stage of the Europa League that we need at least another four players in order to fulfill the Premier League season as well."
However, the Goodison chief insists that, whilst time is running out to make signings, he will not bolster his squad with players not up to the high standards his side has set in recent seasons.
He explained: "We need to bolster the squad but I don't want to fill it with rubbish. It is easy to sign players and bring them in, but we are a Club that wants a very good team and not just an average team."

Ibnu SinaOK...4 players, hope we can close the deal SOON, and please...please, DO NOT OVERPRIZED, 10 mil for bilyetadinov?, personally I think that's too much. Get someone from Belgium or Swiss League, their player are aching to go, and most of their clubs are ready to make a deal, and they might not be that expensive. How's Defour deal anyway? Here's an idea, loan Onyewu from AC Milan, he's American National team mates of Howard, might be a good communication between them. And don't buy strickers, we have abundant of them.

James WilkinsonI have heard that the Banega work permit has been granted, this is great news, i believe that banega can be a very good signing for us albeit for a season, he offers that creative spark like arteta does, cant wait to see him in the royal blue alongside arteta feeding the Yak, that will be the day, also hearing Bystrov rumours, this lad has incredible pace, believed to be the fastest in europe, we should definetely buy him, he would offer us another dimension to our attack and exactly what we need, now all we need is to sell Lescott for 22 mil, spend some on steven Taylor from Newcastle and a new right back, possibly Alan Hutton, had a solid game against Hull. COYB!1!!

Frode SveinungsenI'd love to see Odd Grenland's Chukwuma "Bentley" Akabueze play for Everton.. He is a very talented young man, with great speed, creativity, very good drible skills and powerful and accurate shots, and cornerkicks. But, I guess Moyes know who he want's:) Good luck with Burnley!

Karl MeighanWere are you fans getting the we only want to improve the squad from? WE DONT HAVE A SQUAD, take a look at last nights bench. If you are happy with that then you are easily pleased. questions have to be asked why is it only now we realise we need 4 new players? Its obvious 14 players cannot and will not get the job done.

Colin RileyIt's nice to see at least Moyes being honest about the still desperate need for quality players. A good fightback last night, but it's time to rattle the piggy bank and invest in the team. RB, CB, LorRM and a fit hard-working Andy Johnson style CF have to be the priorities - let's stop excessively haggling about every single player's fee and improve the team.

Matt TuncWe love you David and if I had a spare few hundred million dollars to give you, I would trust that you would use it well and not fill our team with rubbish. I wish that there was no off season and no transfer window. All it seems to do for Evertonians is to dampen our good mood from the previous year and probably gives you migraines and sleepless nights. I wish you could magically get everyone on your target list within the first week of the transfer window. I'm not holding my breath and I can only be thankful for the current squad which you have built and developed.

James BowmanIt seems to be picking up a bit now. Iv heard were ment to be in talks with Newcastle for Steven Taylor who would be a great signing, and a natural replace ment for Lescott who looks destined to go now. Also heard about a Russian right winger, Vladimir Bystrov, which is also great as i think the right-hand side of the team is a bit of a weakness with Hibbert and Osman. We will have to wait and see what happens wont we!! Fingers crossed!!
