David Moyes has been outlining the qualities of his new players.
This week Everton have signed Lars Jacobsen and Segundo Castillo, while a deal for Louis Saha has also been agreed.
Moyes explained that the Frenchman's pedigree was one of the main reasons for his impending arrival.
He told evertonTV: "It looks like we are going to bring Louis here. We are getting him for no cost just now which gives us a great chance to get him here.
"He has had injuries and he's not been on the pitch as much as he should be.
"If we do get him on the pitch there's no doubt he's a very good player. He adds qualities we will need. I am confident we will get him out there."
Ecuadorian Castillo will offer much needed steel to the Everton midfield.
"We've got him on loan for a year so we will all have a chance to see him - me and the supporters alike," explained Moyes.
"He's an Ecuador international and we've seen him on the tapes. We have been looking for a midfielder and this has become available to us so here we are."
And the boss also explained that Jacobsen's arrival could allow Phil Neville to switch to a more central berth.
"Lars nearly came here a year or two ago and now we have brought him in," said Moyes. "With Tony Hibbert injured this frees up Phil Neville to play in midfield.
"He's a Danish international and played for them last weekend.
"Hopefully he we will play an important part in the squad this season."
The Everton boss wouldn't be drawn on ongoing reports of a fresh move for Joao Moutinho or overnight speculation linking veteran striker Henrik Larsson to the club.
But he did insist that his shopping spree isn't over yet.
"I don't think we are finished yet," he declared. "There is a little bit of cash there to spend."
Despite the spate of business this week, Moyes isn't a fan of the transfer window system.
"I'm not really a fan of it. It forces everything into one small period but they are the rules and we abide by them."
