David Moyes says Tony Hibbert is the man for the big occasion.
The Everton boss cited the defender's consistency and reliability as key attributes.
Hibbert put in an impressive display against Arsenal on Sunday and may well be required to perform a similar role when Newcastle visit Goodison this weekend.
Moyes told evertonTV: "I thought Tony Hibbert was outstanding, as was Joseph Yobo and Phil Jagielka and Joleon Lescott.
"We play Hibbo in the games that matter because he is a good defender and he doesn't let you down.
"He is honest in his work and he is a really good player."
The manager also explained that he believes his side are missing key midfielders Tim Cahill and Mikel Arteta.
"People know we are struggling with attacking players and the flair we would like," explained Moyes.
"We don't have Mikel Arteta's flair or Tim Cahill's goals which can come from nothing, and we don't have James Vaughan either.
"They say that you get what we deserve come the end, so next week (against Newcastle) we will find out if we get what we deserve."

Some good points made already. Tony, much like Phil Neville is an easy scapegoat when things don't go quite to plan. As far as I'm concerned the guy is a dyed in the wool blue and an exceptional tackler, OK his crossing isn't the best but he's not paid to do that role so there's no point splitting hairs over it. Tony Hibbert, you're a credit to the royal blue shirt and I along with many other fellow blues salute you. Agreed btw that we need more Hibbo chants.
Agree with Martin?
