Moyes Hails Teen Duo

David Moyes paid tribute to his young guns after the win over Liverpool.

While Dan Gosling, 19, stole the headlines with his winner in extra time, the Everton boss was also keen to praise 17-year-old Jack Rodwell for his display.

Both teenagers were introduced as second half substitutes and played key roles at the Toffees defeated Liverpool 1-0.

"The two young boys did terrific," David Moyes told evertonTV. "When the game opened up, it suited Jack because he is a good passer and he's elegant in his play.

"Dan Gosling, I have always thought, can get you a goal. He's got bits in his game where he pops up and gets you a goal."

Moyes reserved positive words for his centre halves, Phil Jagielka and Joleon Lescott, who were again exemplary in their rearguard display.

The Blues boss is now hoping the feel-good factor at Goodison will continue into Saturday's visit of Bolton.

"They were terrific, they really were. I think they are playing as good as any centre halves in the league," he said.

"It gives us a good platform and let's hope it continues. What will be important now is if we can beat Bolton in the league."

Saegaran KanalanadanWell done boys. A special note on Rodwell. He has shown massive composure on the ball and his distribution for a very young player. I believe Rodwell is destined to be the best CM for Everton, in England and possibly the world in the near future. COYB!!

Giles EdwardsGreat work from the youngsters but let's not forget VDM - he may have only played the last 15 mins or so but it was his cross that found Gosling! I think he needs to be used more often; a definite positive attacking option.

Barry ChallinorThe 2 young lads showed a maturity way beyond their years, especially the way Gosling scored his goal. How often this season has there been no one at the back post for a cross.Thank goodness he knew where to go.
