David Moyes says the Everton fans can help turn Goodison into a cauldron of atmosphere for the Merseyside derby.
The manager wants the supporters to inspire the team and intimdate Liverpool, though he conceeds it is a difficult task.
"The supporters have been great and I have great respect for them as they have been good to me and to the Club," he told evertonTV.
"If they can help us on Sunday it'll be great because we know Liverpool supporters have helped them over the years at Anfield. It is important thet Everton supporters do the same for us."
The Blues boss admitts recent results have been hard for everyone at the Club, especially the supporters, but thinks a good result on Sunday could boost morale.
"I am sure they are hurting at the moment as much as we are and I am sure if we can get them a positive result on Sunday it would help."
Moyes thinks the fact the match is at Goodison could prove vital in the outcome.
"I think home advantage in any Premier League game or in any football game is an advantage. I know that on the day our supporters can make Goodison a hostile place for the opposition to play at.
"However we are up against experienced players who are used to it," says Moyes. They have played some very hostile games in the past so I it will not be a shock for them. In fact sometimes the atmosphere helps lift them as well."
