MACCA BLUE BACKING

Sir Paul McCartney has reiterated that he is a Blue!

MACCA BLUE BACKING

Sir Paul McCartney has again reiterated that he is a Blue!

The former Beatle says he, and his family, are Evertonians - and that he supports Everton when they face Mersey rivals Liverpool.

McCartney had already revealed his allegiance earlier this year on local radio.

And, in a fresh interview, he said: “Here’s my deal: my father was born in Everton, my family are officially Evertonians, so if it comes down to a derby match or an FA Cup Final between the two I would have to support Everton.

"If it comes to the crunch, then I’m an Evertonian.

"I like watching the footie on the telly, I go to the occasional match but I’m not a massive fan.”

And Macca explained that while ex-Liverpool centre forward Albert Stubbins appeared on the Beatles' Sgt Pepper album cover, it could just as easily have been the legendary Dixie Dean.

“I think John eventually came up with Albert Stubbins," he recalled. "I know Dixie Dean was also mentioned. We really didn’t know much about them.”

Andy MarkerGood to know that Macca is a Blue. He's one of my inspirations. I heard that the rest of The Beatles where blues too.

Allan James McDonaldWelcome back, but Paul, do not get a 'Blue rinse' the red one looked terrible! Its the heart that is 'Blue' ,thats the one that count's! As regards to your monies we (Evertonians) are not after it ,all we want is Everton to remain the peoples club and not go the way 'other clubs have gone ,owned ,lock stock and barrel by people who only have self interest or glory in mind.
