Moyes: Language barrier could be affecting Fellaini's disciplinary record.

David Moyes thinks that the language barrier could be a factor in Marouane Fellaini's poor disciplinary record.

The Belgian has compiled 10 bookings since arriving at Everton - a haul which has ruled him out of the double header with Liverpool.

And although Moyes knows the midfielder has very much settled into the Blues squad, his lack of knowledge of the English language meant he struggled during the first couple of months at Goodison.

Moyes now thinks that could be a reason why he's falling out of favour with referees.

The Goodison chief said: "I think that the language barrier and how things are put over at times, and even how referees put things over can be a problem.

"Not all referees are wrong. He's had 10 bookings and we need to get on with it. He's out now and it's old news really.

"His English is getting better, his form is very good and we are disappointed to not have him, but that happens in football."

Much was said surrounding the unavailability of Fellaini for the Merseyside derbies, but Moyes appears to have come to terms with the decision.

He added: "He was always going to miss two games somewhere in the season, so who knows, these may have been the best two games for him to miss."
