Joleon Lescott's hip injury will keep him out of the trip to Blackpool.
The defender also missed Sunday's 2-2 draw with Coventry after picking up the knock during the Toffees' tour of North America.

But manager David Moyes remains hopeful the England international will be able to return to action when Malaga visit Goodison Park on Friday.
"Joleon picked up a hip injury while we were in America," said Moyes.
"We don't expect him to be fit for Tuesday but hopefully he can make it on Friday against Malaga."
In Lescott's absence, 18-year-old Jack Rodwell stepped into central defence.
And Moyes joked: "Well it was either Jack played at centre-back or [reserve team manager] Andy Holden!
"Jack just got the nod there. You can see that Jack is still a developing footballer and he still has a long way to go and we shouldn't expect too much of him too soon."
Everton: Nash, Howard, Hibbert, Neville, Rodwell, Yobo, Baines, Fellaini, Cahill, Osman, Baxter, Wallace, Vaughan, Saha, Jo, Agard, Jutkiewicz, Duffy, Forshaw

Ok,I think this hip injury is a poor cover up. If senderos decides to come,Everton will let Lescott leave,If not i think Lescott stays. Lescott has got £££££ signs in his eyes,Plain and simple. Why should we care? No player is bigger than the club,We have proved that in the past and will prove it again. Let him go,Leave for a club with no team spirit or commitment because they are all money men and not interested in who they play for. Let him look on and be wishing he stayed and played for a TEAM that want to play for each other for the love of the club and the game and not £££££.

i reckon we should let him go now, weve made our stance but it wont mean jack in the end cos he wants his money. is he really THAT good anyway? dont get me wrong, i think hes sound but as ive stated before, he cant even oust upson from the england set up, and will have no chance when jagielka gets fit again! he is easily replaceable and with the 20-odd million we will get for him we should be able to get in players of real class. as long as we keep the galacticos (cahill, arteta, yakubu, jagielka, fellaini) im a happee toffee!! :-)

so lescott has told moyes he wants to leave and moyes has told him he's going nowhere, if he dosen't go does that mean the amazing closeness of the boys and team spirit that we are renowned for will be smashed to pieces. i understand that it would be stupid to weaken the team and sell to a team who will probably be one of our rivals this season bit what would happen with an unhappy player in the ranks. it happened to villa last season with gareth barry and look how poor they were at the end of the season

OK Shaun....i think i will go out and buy myself the Man City shirt coz as you say they are at present buying every good player going and we cant! So as Joleon doesnt feel any loyalty to us.... we may as well support another club and do the same! OR NOT! Footballers dont live in the real world anyway and not many understand the concept of loyalty and what fans have with their love for their club! Its all about money, you either have it or you dont and we would all love Everton to be a rich club, if we were we wouldnt have as much trouble (i hope) in signing players....but then who knows! We seem to have a stigma for players not wanting to come to this great club and id love to know why!

I would hate for lescott to go but am getting angry at the thought that not only does he want to leave but he is obviously trying to con us out of the transfer fee. How quickly he has forgotten all the club has done for him. Maybe he should look at the amount of wolves players in the england squad. Be a man Lescott and if the tripled wages mean more than loyalty then do the decent thing by the club and fans and put in a transfer request, we don't need you, Everton are a true team and will carry on being so long after hughes is sacked (by next season prob) and man city are demanding god knows what from players who are being bought for amounts that in no way represents there skill.

Guys! It's okie to let lescott leave. NO point having a player that his heart is not with the tofees. Lescott departure won't have any impact on everton. We have jaikgalka to cover and yobo and baines is impressive on the left. I like to say don't let lescott leave under 25million. Best, it be better to offload him 30million..,use the money to cash in on our PRESTIGIOUS club long time target JOAO MOUTIHUO. I would like my beloved club EVERTON to buy Rafael Van der vaart, joao or try buying joe cole. Defenders i suggest.., yes..,senderos, colocini, or vilareal young defender..,opps i forgot the name. haha

Let's get real, the vast majority of you would move jobs for more money. footballers are no different. Loyalty counts for nothing. it's a short career and you'd want to rake in as much money as is possible. Everton can't afford to offer the wages City are willing to pay. Besides, city are much improving, buying decent players whilst, Everton are remaining stagnant and not signing anyone of any note.

Why does Joleon Lescott want to leave Everton? The club who have made him what he is today, a first teams player for club and country and who will be in Europe next season for Everton and most likely England with the World Cup. I want to know who has been talking to him because obvioulsy someone from City must have spoken to him to make him want to leave. It cant all be what we have read in the papers that Lescott is listening too. I hope Everton stick to thier guns and dont let him go. Face the back lash like Gareth Barry did and do us proud in the league and in Europe. Everton have been good to Joleon as he has always said when Moyes took him from Wolves and he is prepared to walk away knowing that Jags is out till at least November. No loyalty whatsover Joleon and im devastated once again that a player is going to do it to us .....yet again! I know its got to be the money it cant be for any other reason as City arent going anywhere for a few seasons just yet but it doesnt make us fans feel betrayed and let down before the season kick offs. C O U B for the 15th!
