Landon's Moyes Admiration

Landon's Moyes Admiration

Landon Donovan has revealed his huge admiration for Everton boss David Moyes.

The USA international was speaking exclusively to evertonfc.com about his loan deal and explained that he'd been in regular contact with Moyes over the last couple of weeks as the temporary transfer was concluded.

"I had heard great things from Tim (Howard) about the manager and I have spoken with him myself," said the forward.

"I have to say I was very impressed with his knowledge of the game over here and of my situation personally. He was very straight and honest with me and I am really looking forward to working with him."

The LA Galaxy star is still on the other side of the Atlantic but can't wait to link up with his new teammates after Christmas.

"I am really looking forward to coming over," he said. "For any American player, or any player in the world for that matter, the opportunity to play for a club like Everton is a very exciting one."

Donovan's decision to come to Everton was, he said, a straightforward one. After all, the Toffees goalkeeper, Tim Howard, is one of his closest pals in the game!

"Tim and I have spoken a couple of times about it and he has told me all about the club and all about the expectations at Everton," he said.  "I'll be travelling over on January 1st and I can't wait to get started."

Joe NewmanLandon can be the best player on the field or invisible. You just never know which Landon will show up. If he's getting minutes, he'll help you. If he starts riding the bench, expect little. He attitude gets worse if he doesn't play. I suspect he'll arrive in shape and ready to play. He thinks he's a forward or central mid though he's much better at outside mid. I think he will work hard as there won't be many more chances for him in Europe and this may be the last

DAVE HUNTERAs Dave Rodrigues says hopefully the spotlight will be on us in America, and a very rich American would like to buy us (as long as he doesn't have to borrow any to do it) There must a billionaire out there somewhere who would enjoy putting his own money in. Good luck Landon hopefully you that you are a world class player and we get the chance to buy you outright

David Rodrigues'Ello boys Fulham fan here, now that you have 2 Americans on the team at the same time. You can expect the rush of American interest that might rival what we had at craven cottage. We even learned to get along, and worse love has blossomed and those of us that are still there feel we've made not just new friends but new family members. Good luck I'll be pulling for you boys and wishing you all the best. Just as long as your best isn't as good as our best. COYW!!! and you blues too.

Tim PetersI saw Everton play a warmup against River Plate in canada in the summer and the same thing kept piercing my mind-that midfield is a prime hunting ground for landon donovan, its what's missing. Lad's going to make the difference, and hopefully if the injury issues become better at the club, everton will be back where it belongs- among the best. The combination everyone should keep their eyes on is Tim Cahill and Donovan. If those 2 click, look out !

Stewart LoweLets see what this lad can do in The Premiership, though this is another two levels up from US major league. Priority now is a strong central defender, as im not convinced Distin is what we should have gone for. I think Distin is one of those players that look better than they are. Someone like a Michael Dawson or Michael Turner would be the ideal, though i am aware these guys come with a heavy price.

Trevor WineingerAs as an American futbol fan I'm very excited to see Donovan joining a great club like Everton. I would also hope that Everton would point us American fans in the right direction and get Everton games televised over here so we can learn to support your club. Point me to where I can buy a Landon Everton jersey and start supporting the club right away. Please guide us and help us out, I realize we come into the fan base with so little experience but would like to support Everton as we see the club giving our favorite players chances. I hope the respect will be mutual on both sides of the Atlantic. Hopefully Landon will help the club in this 2nd half of the season, I watch with great interest.
