Jo No Go

Jo No Go

Jo will return to Manchester City at the end of the season.

The Brazilian striker has proved a popular figure at Everton since arriving on loan in January.

He's notched five goals in 13 games for the Toffees, including a memorable brace on debut against Bolton in February - his contribution leading to suggestions that the switch to Merseyside may be made permanent this summer.

But City paid £18m for Jo just last July and Blues boss David Moyes says he'll struggle to come up with that sort of money.

And the possibility of an extended loan hasn't been discussed by the two clubs either.

"I don’t see where we could even come close to getting the money they spent on him," said Moyes.

"But a loan has not been put to us or spoken about at all yet.

"It’s something that, at the moment, we’ve not had any indication that they would have interest in. Obviously that means he will go back to Manchester City."

clinton davidsAnother loan deal will be perfect.Lets look at him a second season and if he improves his work rate and score more goals then we can consider signing him on a permanent basis. Our defence and mid needs to improve and Moyes should consider this.

Linda AndersonI would like to say a sincere thank you to our great chairman Bill Kenwright what other chairman in the premiership shows his feeling when watching his team do you see Liverpool's Chelsea's or any other premiership chairman jump up when we score he has bought stability to the club he has stood by his manager and gave him the funds he wanted I never thought that we would ever pay 15 million for a player I hope you wear your scarf on Saturday and show all the others what it's like to love your team. I would also like to thank David Moyes for bringing in a young team that is capable of winning trophies and are exciting to watch in the seven years he has been at Everton we have finished in the top 6 5 times and one of these was a top 4 . No more relagation worries for us . Finally I would like to say thanks to all the players and backroom staff for giving us a season to be proud of whether we win the cup or not (I think we will) you the players have committed yourselves very well despite the many injuryies we have sustained. Good Luck on Saturday and I will see you on sunday parading the FA cup

Vishalan NaiduJo is an average player. And that's where it ends. He is not worth 18 million pounds. He plays well in flashes and is absent when the going gets tough. Moyes is shrewed enough to see that which is why he finds the price tag too much. He will bring in quality at lower price tags like he has done over the years. Our canny Scot manager needs a more mobile striker up front too make up for the immobility of Fellaini. FA CUP HERE WE COME. COME ON YOU BLUES.

Jeffrey Stuart KirkhamI'm not too gutted at Jo goin back to City. He did ok in a couple of games, but when ya look at the times when we really needed him (all his chances away at Chelsea for example) he fell short. Certainly not worth 18m. I'd be happy for him to come back on a season long loan, but certainly wouldn't like to see Moysie blow all our budget bringing him to Goodison.

John CoadyThere is a time and a place for sentiment in football and this is not one of those times. So Jo has to go back to City? Oh well never mind i say. Hes not exactly lit Goodison up since he came. Dont get me wrong, hes done some good things and i think his all round play is not too bad, but thats about it. Hes just an average player. I looked him up on the net this time last year when we were linked with him and he was mustard! But they only show the best bits! You dont see all the worst bits like when he can't hit a barn door from 12 yards or he gives the ball away cos his pass is not firm enough. Wev all seen him do this a lot at Everton and as i say, he has done some good. Unfortunately i think the bad outways the good. The real shame for him is that he'l go back to City and just rot until they get shut. Thanks for your efforts Jo but i just dont feel it was enough in the end.

Cason TangThanks Jo! You have provided a much needed attacking option when all our strikers are down. Hope you can return to us for another loan deal.

andrew Lancasterthis is a bit of a shame if he goes back cause he himself has said he feels at home here and would like to stay. i think hes done ok a bit lazy at times but i remember the yak being a bit lazy when he first arrived but MR M soon sortted him out and i think he would turn out the same with a little bit of guidence from our special 1(MR M),i think they would make a good partnership (jo &yak) so lets try getting him back even on loan and we could see more goals like the 1 against bolton who knows?? if not then thanks jo for your five goals without them we might not be were we are now so some more good business from MR M. cheero jo and thanks again

Mark BunkerWell id like to see Jo back next year (if only on a loan)..players i would like to see us chase/get in summer are :- W. Brown, G Neville, Nani (all Man U), Gudunssen (Barca), Joe ledley, Moutino, Owen(on a free and at least 1/2 current wage..No sorry less than that, couldnt bear to think he would earn more than our current top players), Ramsey & Vela(Arsenal on loan for season)..Defo need a better right back, let Hibbo go (sorry he is our weak link) keep Lars think he deserves another season(should start FA cup final as well) i believe we have signed a German wonderkid who is the bees knees, if not maybe Fanni (Rennes), Macienne (chelsea) cover till Jags returns...We need only a little more top quality and depth in squad and top 4 is ours....COYB

Nathan DentIt's a shame to see you go Jo, I think you showed proper potential and I think if your were given a full year on loan we might stump up some cash for you in the end!

Saturday 23rd May 18:45 Report Comment

Nick CrumpEven though I think that Jo has done OK for us, I think if City want near £18 million for him then they are mad. If we could secure his services for around £8 -9 million then it would be worth looking at, any more would be madness. There are better players out there that would cost us less.

Vincent Lutman-AllanShame. Could really have seen Jo and the Yak hitting it off but then we suffer having to use fellli and timmy cahill in orthodox midfield roles. An extended loan would be great to give Jo a full season with a decent team and see what he really can do but city wont help anyone.

colm Hudsondon't mind jo goin back not worth 18mill no way.kevin doyle for 10mil and a good midfielder.also whats this bout lescott n man city.ha no way and if so he's worth 20million.great defender!!!

Saturday 23rd May 12:04 Report Comment

Cathy CondronNo disrespect to "Jo" but as David Moyes has said £18 million is a lot for one player, especially with Evertons pot of money! I think David Moyes will spend £18 mill better than signing Jo. He was a great stand in for us Blues but i think we can do better in the Summer buys.....i hope so!

Saturday 23rd May 11:23 Report Comment

Kevin HughesIts a shame we can't add Jo to the squad because of the present finances..as IMO he has begun to get a feel for the Everton way and I feel sure that DM could bring the best out of him as he has done with previous signings, and to be honest with no disrespect to the rest of the lads(as they have all exelled yet again) he adds a bit of class as well as determination. I hope another loan could be arranged as its clearly a benefit to both Everton and Jo..but hey fantastic effort this season congrats to all at Everton. nil satis nisi optimum
