INTERNATIONAL ACTION
Find out how Everton's international players faired.
It has been a busy night across Europe for Everton’s international stars.
Team-mates James McFadden and Steven Pienaar were on opposing sides as Scotland beat South Africa 1-0 at Pittodrie.
McFadden, who has only just recovered from injury, played the first-half before being replaced by Stephen Pearson for the start of the second period.
Kris Boyd grabbed the winner on 71 minutes after latching on to a pass from Darren Fletcher. It was an unlikely Scottish victory as South Africa dominated the game.
Meanwhile Phil Neville was an unused substitute as England lost to Germany 2-1. Despite Frank Lampard giving Steve McClaren’s side an early lead, goals from Kevin Kuranyi and debutant Christian Pander gave Germany a win at Wembley.
The USA travelled to Sweden with Tim Howard starting in goal and the Americans went down 1-0 courtesy of a 56th minute strike from Kim Kallstrom.
