FADDY PUTS PEN TO PAPER
James McFadden has put pen to paper on a new four-year deal at Goodison Park.
James McFadden has put pen-to-paper on a new deal which will keep him at Everton for the next four years.
The Blues striker has signed a new three year deal on top of the one year he had left on his old contract. He signed on Wednesday lunchtime, ending months of speculation over his future.
McFadden joined Everton in September 2003 from Motherwell in a £1.25m deal after the Toffees fought off competition for his signature from both Old Firm clubs.
He told evertonTV exclusively: "It has been a long time coming and I am glad it is done now so I can concentrate on playing football and spending the next few years here at Goodision.
"I have stated from the beginning I wanted to stay but when you are negotiating sometimes things don't go as smoothly as you like but I am delighted to be signing for another three years.
"There is healthy competition but I don't think it is beyond me to get into the team and be playing every week, although I have quality players ahead of me the club hasp aid a lot of money for. But it is not unattainable and that is my target.
