Gary Naysmith has spoken exclusively to evertonfc.com about his latest injury setback.
The Blues defender has damaged a medial ligament in his left knee and faces at least six weeks on the sidelines.
"It couldn't have happened at a worse time really," he said. "I was getting a good run of games in the team and I was enjoying it."
Naysmith was injured following a challenge from Newcastle United's Obafemi Martins last weekend and it is particularly cruel for a player who fought so long and so hard to regain a first-team place after a horrendous ankle injury 18 months ago.
He's looking on the bright side though because he knows that the diagnosis on this current knock could easily have been worse.
"It's a minimum of six weeks out for me but it could have been worse," he said.
