Everton Ladies brought Arsenal's 108-game unbeaten run to an end in sensational fashion on Sunday.
Arsenal's winning sequence, the longest unbeaten streak in the history of the Women's Premier League, was halted thanks to a shock 3-0 victory for the Blues.
The Gunners, champions for the last five seasons, had not lost in the league since October 2003. The victory leaves Everton six points behind leaders Arsenal with three games in hand.
It was the perfect revenge for last weekend's FA Cup semi-final defeat to the Gunners, with the Toffees now realistic contenders for a first league title since 1998.
Captain Fara Williams put Mo Marley's side ahead, opening the scoring after just 10 minutes.
Youngster Michelle Hinnigan doubled the lead three minutes later, and Williams' England colleague Jill Scott hit the decisive third goal eight minutes into the second half.
"We are abolsutely delighted", said assistant coach Andy Spence. "It was an excellent performance and a great response to last week.
"Every single one of them contributed to what was a fantastic performance. Obviously all records come to an end at some stage - we're just happy it's us that ended it.
"Now we've got to move on and prepare for the game on Thursday against Leeds - as games are going to come thick and fast for us now."

I wish the ladies would get more credit in football, especially our girls, they do the name of Everton proud. They work their socks off every game and don't earn the mega bucks some of our "superstars" do in the mens team. I've seen them once or twice at Goodison and I hope they get the chance to play there even more.
