Football legend Eusebio was presented to the Everton crowd before the Blues' clash with Benfica.
The Portuguese star of the 1966 World Cup was returning to Goodison Park - a place which holds major significance as a host ground during the tournament.
He scored nine goals in the competition, six of which were bagged at Goodison.
That included four in a memorable win over North Korea in the quarter final.

He also played against Pele's Brazil in the group stage, scoring twice.
Portugal then lost to would-be champions England in the semi-final.
Eusebio received a rapturous reception when he took to the pitch moments before the Europa League clash.
He received a set of commemorative framed photos depicting his Goodison heroics from Everton skipper Phil Neville.
