Elstone Appointed CEO

Everton Football Club is pleased to announce that Robert Elstone has been appointed as its Chief Executive Officer ( CEO ) on a permanent basis.

Mr Elstone, aged 44, joined Everton as Deputy-CEO in 2005 and has been Acting-CEO since the departure of Keith Wyness in July of last year.

"Over the past few months Robert has helped the Club through what have been busy and challenging times - he has more than proved his worth, " said Everton Chairman, Bill Kenwright.

"Robert has a first-class team around him and I believe our great Club to be in safe and accomplished hands."

Mr Elstone's career has seen him forge an outstanding reputation as an expert in sports business and prior to arriving at Goodison he held high profile positions at the Rugby League, BSkyB and Deloittes.

He added: "This is a great honour for me. I enjoy a tremendous working relationship with the chairman and the Board of directors and I thank them for placing their trust in me

"This is a big job - one of the biggest in world football - but I can promise all Evertonians that I will work tirelessly for the cause.

"What I shall seek to do is grow the club, build the fan-base and also build loyalty to allow us to compete at the very highest level."
