Egm Petition Received
Shareholders call for Extraordinary General Meeting.
Everton have received a petition from shareholders calling for an Extraordinary General Meeting.
The Club has commenced the process of validating the details of all the names cited on the petition.
Under the articles of association, for an EGM to be called a mandate from 20 per cent of shareholders is required.
The petition from a number of shareholders relates to the proposed new stadium in Kirkby. The planning application has been approved by Knowsley Borough Council and is now with central government awaiting final approval.
“The Club can confirm that on Friday we did receive a petition from shareholders,” said Mark Rowan, Head of Media and Communications.
“There will now be a process of authentication and validation of the names on petition against the share register.
“Once we ascertain the accuracy of the names then we have 21 days from receipt to announce a date for an EGM.”
Details of the outcome of the authentication process will appear on evertonfc.com first.
